I completely agree with this. I'm also a twin and I know that when growing up twins will always be seen as a set rather than individuals. You would be doing your twins a favour by not giving them matching names because not having matching names won't make you less of a twin.
ETA: I'm not against subtle name themes at all. It's just that I can't stand twin names like Sophia and Sophie, Jake and Jack etc
There are more sophisticated ways to create a theme or relate names which I think you are trying to do. Ignatius Carlisle and Blaise Donovan are great names for twins.
