[Opinions] Andrea?
What do you think about the girl's name Andrea? Do you prefer AN-dree-ah or ahn-DRAY-uh? Nicknames? Combos? I can't decide if I like it or not. Sometimes the right combo makes a name sing! =)

I really like the name Andrea. It is my cousins name and it is very pretty. Her full name is Andrea Eva Danielle and i think it is a very nice name! :) We dont have any nn's for her we just call her Andrea. I have another cousin (other side of the family) who is named Andrea but goes by Andy. Both are pronounced an-dree-ah and i prefer that a lot more than An-dray-ah.
Andrea Hazel! Thanks
In English, I prefer AN-dree-ah. It's pronounced an-DREA-a in Swedish though (ea like in dear). It's the name of one of my favourite singers, which has made me like it more and more. She's Andrea Heléne (ln Norberg), but goes by Dea. Can't think of any good combos of my own though...
Andrea is all boy to me. I have a cousin [girl] named this. We cal her AN-DRAY-UH.
It's very 80's-90's. For me it's in the same category as Jennifer, Ashley, Nicole, Sarah, Michelle, Becky...it's such a common name that it's almost nondescript.
A wicked middle name would punch it up, but then I'd be sad that such a cool name had to hide behind it.
I don't think anyone would pronounce it "An-DRAY-uh" unless it had an accent.

I like it for an entirely illogical reason that will probably not prove useful to you: It's what I feel I should have been named. Uh, my parents thought my twin and I were going to be boys because the ultrasound tech pronounced that we were. So they picked Andrew and Michael after our grandfathers. Two months premature we were born girls and got stuck with names from off the top of my mother's labor clouded head, when really, wouldn't Andrea and Michelle just have made sense? So, I have a soft spot for that. I like it AN-dree-uh.
