[Facts] Saffi and Moselle - Danish and Maltese?
On a page with "ethnic" paper dolls (which I collect) I found a Danish doll called Saffi. Is this really a Danish name? I've never heard it. Shouldn't it be Sofie?
Also, a Maltese doll was called Moselle. Isn't that a river on the border between France and Germany? Can it really be Maltese? Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if only one remembers to turn on the lights

The official list of acceptable names put out by the government of Denmark includes Safie and Safina but not Saffi. If Saffi is used in Denmark, it is probably a pet name and not normally found on birth certificates. http://www.km.dk/hyppige_spm/pigenavne.htmI would agree with you that it seems highly unlikely that Moselle is a Maltese name.
