[Opinions] WDYTO Saraya?
I'd been using this in the mn slot (Beatrice Saraya was my go to combo), in part because I couldn't find a good nn or pet name for it. However, it's moving up my list. The only nns I've come up with are Sara, Raya, and Suri.
So, wdyt of Saraya? Any combo ideas (first or middle name)? What nn would you use? WDYTO Elinor Saraya, Saraya Wilhelmina, Saraya Josephine?

I think it's lovely :-)Saraya is really cool just to look at; just the shapes of the letters in that order. I really like it. (I also like the spelling Saraia.) But to clarify, I say sah-RYE-ah; I'm not certain if you're using that or sah-RAY-ah.Of the combos you listed, I like Saraya Josephine the best, and she'd be Saya (SIGH-ah) Jo at my house for sure. How bout some combos...Saraya Bellona

My instinct was sah-RYE-ah also, but it is (in this case) sah-RAY-ah.
Saraya Valentina and Saraya Octavia make me smile. Saraya Benedetta has quite the appeal also, stately and soft, very well balanced. So many lovely options, thank you!
Saraya Magdalene is so wonderful! As is Saya. *note to self: when in need of nns, see Lillian* I think she (Saraya Josephine, that is) would be Saya Joy in my house.

Worst name everSeriously :P Haha.Elinor Saraya is lovely. I do like Saraya Beatrice. Saraya Josephine works well too, even though I'm not a Josephine fan.I wouldn't use a nn, but of those I think Raya is my favoruite.

Saraya is very aesthetically pleasing to the ear. It's quite exotic, though, so I am not sure how much I like it paired with staunchly British-esque names like Elinor, Wilhelmina, or Josephine...it just looks a tad off, and heightens the unusual nature of Saraya even more. I think it would look a tad more balanced paired with names that are simpler in structure and not as wieghty - Zoe Saraya, Ava Saraya, Saraya Lucia, Ivy Saraya, Saraya Liora, (or Liora Saraya), Pippa Saraya, Shoshana Saraya (or Saraya Shoshana)May I ask if Saraya is a created name, or if it is from a culture I am probably unfamiliar with? It is very beautiful :)

Saraya is one of my closest friends mn. Her mother choose it (from a book, I believe) as a variation of Sarah. I suspect it was a variation of Soraya, influenced by the popularity of Sarah. I would be using it to honour her.As for the British-esque names I've paired it with, well, that is a big part of my naming style, I suppose. My children are George, Adelaide, and Cecily. Saraya doesn't exactly "fit" with those, another reason it had been put in the mn slot for so long.Edited to add:
Saraya Liora and Saraya Lucia are both lovely!

Awww :)But I'm pretty sure it was from a friend, not a book. I can't remember. But I shoudl probably find out, seeing as it's my name and all. But yes, she definitely chose it as an elaborate version of Sarah.
