[Opinions] Re: Madeleine being pronounced wrong? (one more time, from the pros! c:)
It's pronounced "MAD-uh-len", it's French.
Madeline is pronounced "MAD-uh-line".I think with Madelyn and Madeline being quite popular, people are getting confused about Madeleine.

Well, but as it isn't pronounced "MAD-uh-len" in French anyway, you can as well......pronounce it completely differently in English.
In French, it's mudd-LEN, so that's not even near MAD-uh-len. I think it's OK to just pronounce it like it would be correct in English and not think of the French pronounciation as it won't be fully used anyway by English-speaking people...

Hmmm....(m)Jacques Brel, a famous Belgian singer, had a song called "Madeleine". Whilst I know there will be regional differences in pronunciation, he certainly pronounces it nothing like mudd-LEN.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRCBpMmhrggAs I said, it could just be a difference in dialect, of course.

Oh thanks! Yes, sounds more like Madelen I'd say. mPlus, we don't have a french accent, so maybe it's okay pronounced any way I want? At least I hope...
