[Opinions] Matilda?
Matilda has been a favorite of mine for ages, but I'm worried about it becoming popular. Do you know many people/children with this name? Do you prefer the Matilda spelling over Mathilda? What's the best nickname? For combos, I was thinking:
Matilda Pearl
Matilda Frances
Matilda Clare
Matilda Sophronia
Matilda WinifredAny other ideas?

I have never once met a Matilda, but I would like to. Matilda Frances has been on my list for quite a while too.

I love Matilda, mainly because of the Roald Dahl book. I think the name is quite popular in Australia (possibly because of the song 'Waltzing Matilda') but I don't think I've met anyone with the name here in New Zealand. I like the Matilda spelling best. My biggest (and only, really) problem with the name is that I dislike all of the possible nicknames, so I wouldn't use it as a FN. If I had to choose one I'd probably go with Tilda.
My favourite by far of your combos is Matilda Clare, because it used to be one of mine before I inverted it because of the nn thing (Claire Matilda is my #1 girls name).
The others are a bit old-fashioned. Matilda already has quite a bit of that, and putting it with Winifred and Pearl does nothing to freshen it up.

I love Matilda and I don't know anyone with this name. I use it mostly in the mn spot for my combos - I like Clover Matilda, for instance - but it does make a lovely fn

I love Matilda with this spelling. I don't know many kids so I don't know many Matilda's but I think I know..ehum..3 ?
But it's far more common here, ranked 28 out of top 100.

I absolutely love this name. :] I'm a bit worried about popularity, too, but I only know one person named this. I suspect she's about two or three years old.I prefer the spelling Matilda.I personally wouldn't use any nn for it. I can't think of any a the moment, either. Sorry.Matilda Pearl - Nice combo, but a little too classic for my tastes.
Matilda Frances - I do like this one though. Frances Matilda would be nice, as well.
Matilda Clare - Cute. Clare and Claire are quite youthful and modern sounding; it balances it out.
Matilda Sophronia - Not a fan of this one. A bit too rich.
Matilda Winifred - This one is nice. :]A few of mine:
Matilda Rebecca
Matilda Cecile
Matilda Eleanor (I also love Eleanor Matilda)
Matilda Azure (Not entirely sure why I like this one so much, but I like the contrast between the names)
Matilda Eileen
Matilda Celeste
Matilda Adair
Matilda Gisele

Matilda used to be my number one girls name. I love Milly as the nn. Matilda Sophronia is the only one of your combos I don't like. Matilda Winifred is a bit heavy, but I adore Winifred. Mathilda is a lovely spelling, my preference depends in part on my mood, and the name it is paired with.

I've never met a Matilda in my life. I think it's a cute name without a nickname. If you need to have one Tilly would be the best one I suppose.

I like the name and prefer the Matilda spelling, and you probably don't need to worry about it ever becoming too popular. I don't know anyone by this name. The best nickname is Tilly or Tillie in my opinion. Out of your combos I like Matilda Clare the best (but I would spell it Claire).

The only Matilda I know of is Heath Ledger's daughter. I don't personally know anyone with that name, so I don't think it will become TOO popular any time soon.I like Matilda Clare the best out of all your combos, though I prefer Matilda Claire.
