No. I don't love Imelda. I adore it.
I went to college in the 1980's. So the image of Imelda Marcos and her endless closets of shoes (while Philippino citizens starved) is etched into my brain.
But before the infamous Ms M hit the news, I was in class with a girl named Imelda. I thought it was a very musical sounding name. My yen for girl's "i" names began around this time. So when the whole Marcos thing erupted I made an effort not to let the beautiful name Imelda be ruined for me.
It will be interesting to see how Imelda is viewed by other posters here, since most are younger than me.
