Bishop and friend of St.
Wilfrid of
York, called Delphinus by
Bede and Chamond or Annemundus. The son of a prefect in Lyons, Gaul, Annemund was raised in the count of
King Dagobert I. When
Clovis II succeeded to the throne, Annemund served as his councilor. Named the bishop of Lyons, Annemund befriended St. Wufrid of
York. When
Clovis died, Annemund was slain in the political upheaval of his time. He died on
September 28, 658.
