[Opinions] unusual pronunciation of Sophia...
I really love the middle english pronounciation of Sophia, so-figh-a (rhymes with higher), the same was as Maria used to be pronounced like Mariah in the english speaking world. I really want to use this name, but i have no idea of the best way to spell it so that people don't instinctively say 'sophia'. Hm! Suggestions? I've looked all over the internet but can't find a name or even a word in another language that is pronounced so-figh-a which i could substitute, as it's the sound i like.
Sapphire is not a suitable alternative!

Probably 99% of the time people will pronounce it the common way regardless, unless you manipulate the spelling so much that they no longer recognize it. May as well just use Sophia or whichever spelling you like best and get used to explaining it to people =)
Sofiah, maybe, or Sophiah. Like Maria/Mariah
How about Soraya ("sor-RIE-uh")?
I knew a boy who graduated my school last year whose SURNAME was Sophiea, pronouced like that.
Try Sofiah, similar to Mariah.
That's a pretty cool pronunciation, BTW.
