With the risk of coming across like a know-it-all, I just wanted to point out the fact that Jolie is not a French name. It's the French word for "cute" and it is, as far as I know, not used as a name. (I looked it up on some French name sites and it's not even in the database).

It's the French word for "pretty", "mignon/ne" is the French word for "cute". Sure, it can also be used to describe a cute/pretty girl, but the usual translation is "pretty".
Yes, you're right, it's not used as a name in France at all. At least I've never met one (my mom is French). Danielle is also really really dated in France.
