I tend to prefer Charles too, but Carl is the actual family name my DH wants to honor and I'm not sure I can totally sway him. Perhaps it's time to revive Carl and give it another chance? I am interested in everyone's feedback.

Oh, if it's the actual family name, that gives it about fifty more points in my book. Direct honoring is so much better than indirect honoring, IMO.

If I make myself, I can picture Carl as a debonaire Viking. That's much better. Yes, I shall think of it in that way.
