[Facts] Re: nickname corrie
Where did you find a phrase "dating back to 1970" in what this site says about Corinna? In the modern era it has been in use since the 17th century, when it was used by Robert Herrick in his poem 'Corinna's going a-Maying'.This site clearly states that the name Corinna was in use way before 1970.

In the database:CORRIE
Diminutive of CORINNA, CORA, and other names starting with Cor. Since the 1970s it has also been used as a feminine form of COREY.That's probably where she got it from and she either misunderstood or misread it.
