[Opinions] Jamie

Hate it
Every single Jamie I have ever met, boy or girl, without exception, has been snobby, cruel, arrogant, whiny, spoiled, entitled, shallow and generally awful. It has absolutely ruined the name for me forever and I actually cringe inwardly whenever I meet a new Jamie.
I think James in full on a little boy is much cuter and more handsome. And personally I think the more vintage and vastly unused Jim or Jimmy would go much better with your favourite, Betty :)

I like it.
You know, I can't wholeheartedly endorse the use of Jamie on a boy, although there's nothing about its sound that I find objectionable. This is because, although I hate it on a girl, I still find something too feminine about it. Maybe not really feminine, but it doesn't seem masculine enough to me. I guess my perception might be colored by the experience of my husband, whose childhood nickname was Jamie. He changed it to Jim during middle school, because he was being teased about being called Jamie.
So I would at least want to see it as a nickname for James, which would give the boy more options later in life, than on its own.

I like Jamie well enough on a kid but it's rather cutesy on a grown man.
Cute on a baby boy but no so great on a grown up man. As a nickname maybe but not as a full name.
