A Saxon to me is a pillaging invader! - or a cheesy heavy metal band from the 80s. So, um, not very girly.
However, if my cute granddaughter was called Saxon, I could probably be persuaded that it was cool. There are much worse names, and it's easy to spell and pronounce.

Yes, I will always have that association with the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, what have you.
