[Facts] Re: Weird Polish Names
Shaymin,My first language is Polish and I can't make sense of this one. I asked my mom and she can't place it but said it sounds like something from a story or legend and could even be transliterated from a language with a different alphabet.I was getting ready to hit post when I found this Polish wiki entry for Wizenna/Wisenna:http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/WizennaIt appears that a woman named Wizenna/Wisenna was the first abbess of a Benedictine convent in Staniątki founded by her parents. During the Tatar/Tartar raids she saved the community by taking a picture of the virgin Mary in procession around it(or so the legend says).
