Help[Opinions] Medina
Any thoughts on Medina? It's the name of a city in Saudi Arabia. Not only that, it's the second holiest city in Islam. I love the sound, but I'm a bit unsure of it. I know that some people think city names are tacky. Is Medina tacky?

It's such a surname to me. I know towns of Spanish people with the surname Medina, so I can't see it as a first name. I would actually assume it's a family surname if I met a Medina and wouldn't think of the Islamic city. It's a pretty enough sound, but I am one of the people that think city names (and surnames) are tacky, so I wouldn't use it.

Honestly, the idea of giving a child the name of a holy city in Islam is weird. I'd expect her to have a sibling named Mecca.
