[Opinions] Arabella or Evangeline?

Arabella nn Aria.
Arabella by far.
Evangeline
Arabella!
Evangeline. It sounds strong and seems more "real" than Arabella, which strikes me as frilly and totally bratty.
Evangeline, no contest!
Arabella - timeless & underused
Ditto!!
Arabella

Arabella.
Before I read the post I was going to say that the nn should be Ara, but Aria is great. I like Lina too, but not as much. And I'm a bit tired of Evangeline.

Evangeline, I think
Evangeline smacks of Christianity to me, so if the child is not being raised Christian, I wouldn't use it. (It means simply "good news," but I've never heard evangel- language outside of "the good news of Jesus Christ"... maybe that's my New Testament Greek coming into play though). I am Christian, but the name is a GP for me since it's a little religiously zealous IMO and I'm wary of heavily religiously-affiliated names.
But I still like Evangline "Lina" more than Arabella "Aria".

This is a tough one for me, both are on my favourites list. I think though, if I am forced to choose, I would have to say Arabella is better for a first name.
