[Facts] name meaning
My father named me Shamine after the character "Chimene" that Sofia Loren played in the movie El Cid. However, as you can see my name is not spelled the way it was spelled in the movie. My named is pronounced as (Shi-mean). Although my father did not spell it the way it was spelled in the movie would I still be able to derive the meaning of my name from "Chimene" since my father's intent was naming me after the character in the movie? I cannot find the meaning of my name the way that my father chose to spell it. Help!

Yes, you certainly are able to derive the origin of your name from that of Chimene. The etymology of a name is its history. In your case, the history of Shamine is clearly that it was derived as a respelling of Chimene, so it would go back to the same original meaning as Chimene.
Of course, the movie character is more relevant to your father's reasons for naming you what he did, so the meaning to him would be based on what that character was like. But you are quite free to trace back the origin of the name further if you are able.
