Help[Opinions] Julia
I've always loved this name because of the Beatles song, and I would definitely use it for a daughter. WDYT? I like Michaela for a middle name (it's honoring), but I'm afraid it might have too much of the -ah sound. Do you think it will get more popular, or do you think it will stay in the 30's/40's like it has for the past few years? Thanks. :)

I thought about it, and I like Juliet, but I definitely prefer Julia. Juliet is a little too precious for me to take it seriously.

It's a gorgeous name, I'm surprised it doesn't come up more often here.

I love it and think Julia Michaela is just fine. The double 'a' endings and it being rather popular doesn't both me at all. :)

I like Julia. It irks me that it doesn't really have a meaning -- it's just the feminine form of the Roman gens name Julius, for which the etymology has apparently been lost. At this point, Ross and I have decided on Julia as our #3 name for daughters. He has a favorite band called Julia and I just like the name (although I would prefer Sylvia). Our combination is Julia Meredith (honoring). I think Julia Michaela is lovely -- not too much -ah sound IMO.

Julia is lovely. I don't see it changing in popularity personally. Julia Michaela is lovely. My personal favorite Julia combo is Julia Anna.

I love Julia, even though that has been a more recent development for me! It was neither here nor there for me before, but I have come to like it alot since a friend named her daughter Julia (she's 6 now).
I think its a classic and probably will stay where it is. When I did start to like it I thought it interesting that it had not become more popular than it did since Julia Roberts rise to fame.
I see Juliet as the more likely name to rise in a trend.

I love Julia. It's a classic, timeless name. I had a great-aunt named Julia, who was born in 1900, but the name seems just as suitable for a baby now as it did then. I don't see it rising in popularity. I think it will stay right where it is. There will always be a section of the population that appreciates Julia, but the majority who go with the flow won't be attracted to it.

Maybe because it is SO timeless, it has no "feeling" left to it? A less popular name might summon up some kind of ambiance, like quaintness, rustic strength or spunk; encapsulate the time when it was popular somehow. But Julia has always just been there, for centuries.
I think it is beautiful too, and also see that reaction to it. A sort of absent-minded respect, but that's it.
