I don't like the way it looks; for some reason it reminds me of fish.

Muirgheal and Muriel are lovely, same pronunciation.

Muirgel looks like a near miss to me.

Well, I imagine the sound is probably nice when spoken correctly. But since I only speak English, the form of the name that works for me is Muriel. That G really throws me off. I like Muriel a lot, though.

The spelling is ugly.
