[Opinions] Melisande and Melisenda
I'm really liking these at the moment, I'm realizing I really like Medieval girls' names. I like how this name is unusual yet traditional, plus Melisande was a queen of Jerusalem during the crusade period http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melisende_of_Jerusalem and I have a soft spot for strong, enpowered women. The form I prefer is Melisande in this spelling, though for lingusitic reasons it would make more sense for me to use Melisenda (I don't care much for Millicent). I wonder if the name isn't too pretentious to be use and might sound silly in daily life. It would probably require a nickname for a child (Melisa perhaps?). I doubt it would pass Chloe's supermarked test.Any thoughts?
