I think a little Serafima would be mistakenly called Serafina a lot. I don't see much of a difference between the names so I'd just use the more common Serafina. Both names are unusual, but not enough so to be unusable. Regardless of which name you go with, call her Sephie/Sefi. It's so cute.

I prefer Serafina...And I LOVE Serafina! I loved it before Jennifer Garner took it, so I don't think of it as too celebrity. Although now that she has, I am less inclined to use it (humph!)I don't like any form of Sera (Sarah, etc.) So I would likely try to come up with a different NN, though I can't seem to think of a good one!ETA: I also prefer the spelling Seraphina, and think Seraphine is lovely as well.

Reminds me of FEMA. I don't care for it.

Lovely, but prefer SerafinaThere's no denying that it's unusual, but just because a name is a little out there doesn't mean we should write it off as a 'celebrity name', I don't think. I like the fact that this name seems to me both elegant and fiery, so I imagine a girl with lots of poise and passion. Also, it has a mythical quality to it that makes it even more appealing to me.As for nicknames, Fina? Saffy? I don't know... I think I'd just prefer to see it as a full name - why do we need to bother giving every name a nickname?

I prefer Serafina, and I prefer the spelling Seraphina to both. I think it is a beautiful name but a bit too princessy and pretentious for my taste. I wouldn't mind seeing it used on someone else's kid though. The only other nn I can think of is Fifi...
