The spelling Chakarov is more common in Bulgaria. I think it may the Bulgarian form of the Turkish name Cakar (and/or Çakar?). Neither name is in the Turkish dictionary though, but I did find out that in the Kyrgyz language, cakar means 'sharp, lively', which is perfect for a name (It is pronounced tchakar of course).
