[Opinions] Celebrity baby BAs
Actor Joey Lawrence and his wife Chandi Yawn-Nelson are expecting their second child.
She will be named Liberty Grace, the actor shares. The first name "is something I've always loved," Lawrence, 33, explains, while Grace is in honor of his grandmother, who passed away earlier this year. Liberty will join older sister Charleston, 3 ½.Belgian actress Liz Corthals and partner Dennis Philips welcomed daughter Sterre in October.Belgian actress Marie Gillain and partner Christophe Degli Esposti welcomed daughter Vega in October. Marie’s older daughter is named Dune. Russian footballer Sergei Semak and wife welcomed daughter Barcelona on November 4th. They also have older children named Maja, Semjon and Iwan.
Sergei’s quote about the name:
The 33-year-old gave his newly born daughter the name 'Barcelona' to honour his club's surprising performance against the Champions League title holders.
"This is a nice way to make sure I never forget that memorable win. Additionally, it's a bit of a tribute to the beautiful football they play."Dutch footballer Wim (Willem Cornelis Nicolaas) Kieft and model Suzanne Martens welcomed daughter Feline on November 8th. Older siblings are Wim's children - son Robbin, and daughters Mattia and Mauri. Belarus swimmer Alena Popchanka and husband Frédéric Vergnoux welcomed daughter Lika on November 9th.
-I find this one funny, since Lika is the mountainous region of Croatia. Belgian actress Lokke Dieltiens and musician Stijn Kolacny welcomed daughters Rosa on November 9th.

Wow. Um, Rosa and Mattia are nice. I suspect poor little Barcelona is going to be really jealous of her normally-named siblings.

Barcelona after a football match? Ugh.

Well, at least there SOME connection. Most parents seem to give place names totally randomly.

Feline? I guess they could call her Kitty as a nickname. :P

I believe it's a common Dutch name, but maybe a Dutch person can confirm. It's not pronounced like the English word.

Yes, I was making a joke! Sorry.

Oh, I got that:-)It's just that with some horrors we get in BAs here (Tiger, Puma, Panda...) feline (as in cat) would not be out of the realm of possibility!

Kolacny as in Kolacny Brothers and Scala? They were in one of my favourite Indochine songs ♥ Rosa is all right, it's a pretty name.I actually find Liberty kinda cool. Maybe because Pandora Braithwaite (who is epic win) wanted her first-born daughter to be named that? The sister's name, on the other hand... Charleston is horrible.Footballers seem to have awful taste in names - Barcelona? Feline? What's next, Aubergine? French Toast? Moscow?I don't care for Sterre much, but Vega is mighty cool. Really mighty cool.Lika looks and sounds very nicknamey for me, but it could be worse.

I believe Feline is a common Dutch name, but a Dutch person would have to confirm. I've seen it a few times. As for Barcelona, while I dislike place names in general, how is it any different than say London, Boston or Brooklyn, all of which seem to be becoming trendy in the US? At least it's a female name on a girl. And yes, he's that Kolacny:-)

I'm not Dutch, but Feline is a real name, yes. It might not work in some places but it's legitimate. :)I still always think of cats though.

I had no idea Feline was a legit name. But still, it reminds me of felines so much... And I love cats :DThanks to this BA I've been listening to Indochine for a while now ♥

I really only love Rosa. I find Liberty especially tacky, but Libby is cute. Maja is nice and I would like Robin rather than Robbin (which reminds me of robbin').
