[Opinions] Re: Casey for a boy
in reply to a message by Erin
Casey is like Jamie to me. Too feminine for a boy. Yet I don't like it on a girl, because it's not feminine enough for a girl. It's just too in between. Like Darcy, also. They are too girly for a man, and too "butch" for a woman.I knew slightly a female Casey. She was my sister's niece by marriage. Not any more, I guess, since my sister is now divorced from Casey's uncle. Anyhoo, I saw her when she was six years old and haven't seen her since. She would be twenty-three now.I knew a male Casey. He was an effeminate homosexual, so he didn't help the name's "too feminine" image for me. NOT saying the name caused his gayness, or anything like that! I know it was a coincidence.

thanks for the anecdotes and explanation. They do help. That might be what has helped me to like the name, the three male Caseys I've known are boyish if not masculine. Captain of the football team, young businessman, popular high school teacher kinds of people.

that's how all the Caseys I know are too. (but then again, I'd use Jamie on a boy in a heart beat...I love more feminine names for boys though!)
