This is a Yiddish form of Miriam, which I love but doesn't work with my ln. Miriam Donham....yuck! Anyway, I looked up variations of Mary and saw Mirele. So, two questions. WDYT and how is it pronounced? Thank you

I'd assume it was muhr-ELL/meer-ELL or muhr-ELL-ah/meer-ELL-ah. Not sure, though. It 'looks' pretty, but I can't say for sure whether I like it or not without knowing the pronunciation.

For some other variations of Miriam (which is a variant of Mary), click on Miriam and then click on "Related Names" underneath it to get a LONG list of names.

I've only heard it pronounced the french way, "Mir-ay". It's pretty.

I would pronounce it Meer-RAY, but that's probably totally wrong. I don't really like it. How about...

Meryl Donham --> Meh-RIL

I like Marielle, but my good friend is using that name, and I'd hate to steal it. I like Marissa. I'll add it to my personal list and see what DH thinks. Not too sure about Meryl or Mariah

M's not one of my favourite sounds, so I'm not a big fan of Miriam Donham. Mirele I would say "meer-EH-leh." Mirele is nice, though I can't say I'm as big a fan of it as I am of Miriam.

Other Miriam-related names I think are really nice (and more importantly, sound nice with Donham!): Mari, Mariel, Marielle, Marietta

I would pronounce it like Meer-elle, but I'm probably wrong. I don't like it as much as I love Miriam. I also don't think that Miriam Donham sounds terrible.

I think Miriam Donham looks good on paper, but not when I say it out loud. Maybe if I said it a bunch I would get used to it.

I'm not sure where I saw it but in my h.s. french class i used the name mirielle. I think (don't take my word for it) that it could be a nice french version of muriel. but the l's were pronounced. Meer-ee-el.
