I don't enjoy either of them, but either I prefer Ella or I really dislike Ellen. Sometimes it's hard to tell.
I hope Ellen won't make a comeback. To me it's flat-footed and coated in a thin film of grey dust.
Elle as a full name is silly, like Dee and Jay and Kay and Dorothy's Aunt Em. And then there's the glitzy magazine. No. Ellie is fine if you're grey with a trunk. And tusks.
Eleanor. Elaine. Ella. And the rest nowhere.
For the record, I love and would enjoy using both Eleanor and Helen; not Ellen, Helena etc. Go figure.
