[Surname] surnames Fowler and Shipman
Hi, I've noticed you haven't either of my family names on here. Let me see if I can give you what little information I can find on them, so you can add them for anyone else who may be searching for these names."Fowler" appears to originate in what is now Great Britain (but I'm not sure exactly where, possibly England and Scotland), and my extremely conflicting sources seem to indicate that it refers to someone who either keeps or catches birds--each definition seems to be represented approximately equally."Shipman" is also from Britain, may be English and possibly Welsh, and seems to refer to either a mariner or a shipbuilder.HouseOfNames.com lists both of these as having Anglo-Saxon origins, and possibly existing before the Norman conquest.Any further information you can find on these names would be much appreciated and very awesome. Thanks for the great website.
