A friend of mine's just had a baby girl named Emmanuelle Grace, very pretty but also very long.
I was wondering what nickname she'd be given - Emmie, Emma? Any ideas? What would you have as a pet name if you were an Emmanuelle?

There's Elle or Ellie as well, if they shorten it from the other direction.

For my own part, I don't think I'd be an Emmanuelle for long enough to attract a nn. It just isn't suited to everyday use!

Emmanuelle is very pretty and it doesn't need a nickname in my opinion. I don't understand why people are so afraid of long names and always have to shorten them. It really isn't that much easier to say Emmie than it is to say Emmanuelle.
Emmie or Elle would be my favorite nickname for Emmanuelle but I think they ruin the beauty and elegance of Emmanuelle.
