It's a lively, interesting name, but I prefer Xanthe.

This name reminds me of the sound Daffy Duck makes after he gets shot in the face and his bill does a 180 on his head. His lips come out, and make that weird little noise...it kind of sounds like the ending of Xanthippe.Obviously, I don't consider it to be very functional.

Wow. That is the greatest description of how the sound of a name reminds you of something ever! After Daffy Duck gets shot in the face... *goes off to watch Loony Tunes *

I actually like Xanthippe more than Xanthe. Xanthe is very cold and corporate-sounding, while Xanthippe seems more "namey" and warm, as well as historical. I also love the playful and chirpy "ippe" ending. It has much more personality than Xanthe does.I think it's usable. It's certainly no weirder than Xanthe, and has a historical background to boot.

I'm very pleased to hear that you think Xanthippe is usable and namelike. Now that I think about it, I agree with you on how 'Xanthe is very cold and corporate-sounding, while Xanthippe seems more "namey" and warm, as well as historical.' I too like the ending. Many people think Xanthippe is too weird, but I don't.
