Welcome Ira and Mary Katharine!
You got Ira and Mary Katharine!
Ira George is 10 years old. He comes from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He has been put up for adoption because his parents were abusive. He suffers from mild PTSD as a result of his home life, but is very sweet and kind. He loves to read, especially history books. He keeps in contact with various pen pals around the world. He would like to keep in contact with his older sister Susan, who went to a family in Edina, Minnesota. He hopes that his new family will take him out to eat a lot, because he really wants to try a lot of different foods.
Mary Katharine is 4 years old. She comes from Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Her family was very religious and caring, but her father lost his job and the family had to give her up. Her parents request that she be taken to church, or at least Sunday school, at the nearest Methodist facility, if at all possible. She has an older sister, Sarah Beth, who wishes to write to her from her new home in Lexington, Massachusetts. Mary Katharine loves fingerpainting, flowers, and puppies. She is very talkative and laughs a lot. She hopes to start preschool soon and learn to read.
Please keep us updated on your new children, and congratulations!

2 years later.
Ira has adapted well to his new home. He and Tyrell often read together, and have formed a very strong bond. He continues writing letters to his sister. He has also continued writing to his pen pals, and we're thinking about letting one of his pen pals from across the pond to come and stay with us for a while.
Mary is now in 1st grade, and she gets to spend more time with me. Tyrell takes her to church weekly. When Sarah writes to her, we read them out loud to her and then help her with the reply. She's having a little trouble learning how to read.
Ira and Mary get along fine. They argue a lot, but they usually get over it in a few minutes.
