Welcome Stefan, Luka, Sofija, and Karlo!
You got Stefan, Luka, and Sofija from Serbia, and Karlo from Croatia!
Stefan is 7 years old. He has brown hair and green eyes. He has mild epilepsy, which means he is prone to seizures but functions normally in nearly all circumstances. His parents and older brother Nikola were killed in shootings resulting from Serbia's fight for independence. He has been raised Eastern Orthodox and would like to continue practicing. Stefan has a wonderful sense of humor and loves to play practical jokes. He has a fantastic social sense and makes friends very easily. He speaks fluent Serbian and a small amount of English. Upon learning that he would be placed with a family in Australia, he became very excited and asked us to inform you that he has never seen a kangaroo, but very much wants to.
Luka is 4 years old. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is hard of hearing, but with a hearing aid (that will require infrequent changing as he grows) he functions normally. He is very creative and loves to make "musical instruments" out of things in the house, meaning that he will play drums on anything you might have lying around. His mother recently died of multiple sclerosis and that left him without any other caregivers. Luka is very intelligent and has already learned to read. He misses his older siblings very much and is happy that he will have a large family around him.
Sofija is 2 years old. She has no disabilities of any sort. She has brown hair and large, almond-shaped brown eyes. Her temperament is calm, and she is nearly always smiling or laughing. She has begun to talk a little bit, but obviously, her vocabulary is limited.
Karlo is an infant. He has hazel eyes. He has no disabilities.
Congratulations on your new family members, and please update our agency on how you're doing!

1 year later!
Stefan is now an 8 year old, and in his 3rd year of Primary School. His English has improved greatly. When he first arrived in Australia, the first thing we did with him was take him to the zoo to see a Kangaroo,, he even got to pat the baby Joey'! His seizure's are becoming less frequent now, and he has adjusted well in his new life with his new parents and siblings.
Luka is now a 5 year old, and has begun Kindergarden. He is one of the smartest children in his class, his teacher's have nothing but praise for him, and he has made many new friends. We got him his hearing aid, and bought him his very own set of drums. He is young, but he is receiving music lessons from a tutour. He is very happy and adjusted around his new siblings.
Sofija is now 3 years old. Her vocabulary is growing, she is very talkative and energetic, and loves being the centre of attention! She gets on well with her sibling's, and she is still the same happy girl she was when she first arived in Australia.
Karlo is now a 1 year old. He is now just learning to talk basic words. He is quite shy and very well behaved, but he too has adjusted to his new surrounding's,
The whole family is planning a trip to Serbia & Croatia later in the year, so the children can hold onto their sense of cultural identity, and everyone is very much looking forward to it!
