I know this isn't exactly a name, unless you count names of peoples, but I didn't know where else to ask. With the exception of a sports team, I've always heard Celtic pronounced KEL-tik. Dr. Felsen (my medieval literature professor) confirms this. The dictionary listed it as KEL-tik, SEL-tik. My step-mom proceeded to argue about it with me tonight because her voice and diction professor told her that SEL-tik is the only correct way to pronounce it. Is there only one correct way? Are they both simply correct? Or is one more correct than the other? Thanks in advance.
