I'm reading a book about L.M. Montgomery(who wrote "Anne of Green Gables", as I expect you know). One of her friends, perhaps a cousin, was named Penzie. It doesn't seem to be a shortened version of anything, as all other names are spelled out in full, if there's a short form or nick-name.
