Tall, skinny, and gangly, the youngest Lemaître daughter Nadia had always considered herself to be the ugly duckling of the family. All this changed however when, at 17, Nadia notices a man staring at her while she works at the bakery after school. She tries to avoid his eyes, thinking that he must be a creep, but she is shocked when he comes up to her and explains that he is a talent scout for Marilyn Agency, the largest and most famous in Paris! Nadia is shocked, and takes his card. That night, she begs her parents to let her meet with the agency, and they agree hesitantly. Almost overnight Nadia becomes the modeling world's newest It Girl: She gets to open shows for designers such as Prada, Gucci, Lanvin, and Dolce and Gabbana; she is one of the youngest models to grace the covers of French, American, and Italian Vogue. Nadia lives the high life--huge paychecks, all expense-paid trips all over the world, dating musicians and millionaires, and becomes a rampant partier, especially with her older sister Véro. Unfortunately, models have limited shelf life, and by her 25th birthday, Nadia was played in the modeling world--it had moved on to better, younger prospects. Now out of work and addicted to drugs, Nadia was floundering. However, after an emotionally-charged conversation with her parents, Nadia got clean and realized that she had a very respectable amount of money saved from when she was a minor, and that she could still remain in the fashion world: she had a flair for design, and soon her designs were being sold in department stores all over Europe. Soon after she got out of rehab she meets an upcoming singer-songwriter who represents all the things Nadia wasn't and needed: he was laid-back, friendly, and a bit uncomfortable with the limelight. They soon settle down and have three sons.
