Owa does not sound like a real name to me. If I met someone named Owa I would feel confused, go "what?" and possibly even ask if that was her real name.

I like the name alot, but I don't care for the spelling. Maybe Oea? I don't know!

I don't think it sounds primitive. It reminds me of Africa, and lately, I've been really loving African names. I've met girls named Sudi (soo-dee), Doubara (doo-BAH-rah), Yaol (like yowl), and Azieb. I think that Owa is very nice, though not something I would use.

I agree with the others, its very primitive and not like a name at all more of a grunt. Sorry!

It's too primal sounding imo. To me it sounds like a noise one would make if they were startled or if they stubbed their toe.

The sound is very primative to me. Perhaps because as you pronounce it there are no consonant sounds. I don't particularly like it on its own but it might be nice as a nn for Rowena.
