Do you like Melinda? I have known two Melindas, one was a friend and the other was my stepmother. My friend Melinda was always called Mindy, and my stepmother went by a totally unrelated nickname that was based upon her maiden surname. Both of them said they hated Melinda.
Why would they hate Melinda? Don't you think that Melinda is better than Mindy or an unfeminine surname-related nickname?
So do you like Melinda? What about the nickname Mindy? Do you think that Melinda practically demands a nickname such as Mindy, or do you think that it's not too unwieldy to be used on an every day basis?
