[Opinions] Sophronia
I've fallen in love with this name. It's nice how it combines two of my favorite girls names, Sofia and Ronja, while still being a name with its own origin and history.
Sophronia (clickable)
How do you pronounce it and what would the correct pr. be?
soph-RO-nee-ah or maybe soph-RON-ya? I don't really know but I like them all.
Does it seem made up? Do you like its meaning?
Ever encountered one? In real life or a book or so?

I love that name! I pronounce it soph-RO-nee-ah.
It doesn't seem made up to me. I like its meaning, and I've never encountered one anywhere.

I pronounce it soph-RO-nee-ah. I think it's usable, has a nice meaning, and it offers a variety of nickname options.
I've never heard the name, maybe because I never read the Five Little Peppers books. But even if people mistake it for an invented name, you know that it isn't. And it is spelled in a sensible way -- it doesn't look crazy, just unusual.
I had an odd, bleary eyed 4 am moment when I saw the name. For a moment, I thought you'd written Sophomor - ia. I am sure that it just me being crazy however. :)
I like your idea. It has a good meaning, and I've got a thing for ancient Greek names that are still usable.

I pronounce it soph-ROWN-ya (like own).
I've loved the name ever since I read "The Five Little Peppers and How they Grew." It struck me as so spunky, fun, and unique. (Although I didn't like the nickname Phronsie (sp?) that they used for her.

Sophronia is such a wonderful name. It was on my top ten for the longest time and when DH and I found out we were expecting I ran this name by him. Unfortunately DH didn't love it as much as I did and compared with our last name it would have been quite a mouthful.
I pronounce it soph-RO-nya
It may seem a made up to those who have never heard of it.
I don't think it's meaning is fabulous but it's nice enough.
I have never encountered a Sophronia anywhere.

When I saw the name my initial reaction was "what a mouthful" but when I finally attempted it, it was soph-RO-nee-ah. I don't think its a horrible name at all, in-fact its got a fairytale quality to it which it cute. I've never come across it before and I would think it was made up, but, i like it :)
