[Opinions] "popular names for twins"
that social security site Rachel provided has some neat stuff on it. One is a listing of the top 50 most popular choices for twins. Take a look-see: http://ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/twins.htmlIf you had to choose an option for g/g, b/g and b/b twins from those charts, which would you pick? I'd go with:Anna and Emma
Grace and John (or Lily and Luke)
James and WilliamBut they would have really fun middle names I swear.

I saw these and I was far from thrilled, but here goes...G/G: Ava & Sophia
B/B: Alexander & Michael (I'm not a fan of Michael, but I could use these and honour people at least. Kind of bummed that Ryan was in some of the pairs, but not one with William or Alexander.)
B/G: William & Sophia

Ok, I would go withIsabella and Sophia - yes, they are WAY too popular, however, there is no denying they aren't pretty names, and they do sound good together because they have a similar 'feel' to them.
Olivia and Sophia
Isabella and Olivia Anna and William - so classic, I adore it
James and Julia
Olivia and WilliamAlexander and Benjamin
James and William - clear winner for me

I can't believe Jessica & Jennifer are still on there!I'd pick:
Anna & Emma
Emma & William
Nathan & NoahI was also surprised to see Alexis & Alexander as a popular pair for twin boys because of Alexis used on a boy. There were only 12 boy twins named Alexis, but still!

Goodness, why are matching names for twins so popular? Faith and Grace? Faith and Hope? Emily and Emma???Aidan and Nadia...wow I didn't know so many people would get the anagram thing. Makes me think they all came to this site where it's listed ;)I'd pick:Isabella and Sophia
Sophia and William
Aidan and Ethan (just because it's AidAn and not Aiden ugh) or William and Thomas...Can I get Thomas and Aidan? Aidan and William? Not too fond of Ethan, but I want Aidan so Aidan and Ethan it is.

Before I choose, I must comment. Really, some of those sets are terrible!
In fact, I'll list the ones that are cheesy or rhyme-y or overly matchey or terrible. And I'm not going to take bad names into account, just horribleness.
Faith and Hope
Ella and Emma
Heaven and Nevaeh
Makayla and Makenzie
Faith and Grace
Gabriella and Isabella (which they listed twice?)
London and Paris (really?)
Emily and Emma
Grace and Hope
Savannah and Sierra
Haylee and Kaylee
Adriana and AndreaMadison and Mason
Taylor and Tyler
Jayda and Jayden
Jada and Jaden
Aidan and Nadia (*rolls eyes*)

Oh, some of these make me so angry... I'd love to know what 38 pairs of failure parents would name their sons Jayden and Jaylen. Really? They aren't bad enough on their own? I really can't believe that some people think things like that are "cute" or that they somehow won't end up hurting the kids. Perhaps I'm being harsh, but I can imagine how much worse my already substandard self-esteem thanks to being an identical twin would be if our names were one letter apart or anagrams of each other.
And as for your question:Alexandra Constance and Elizabeth Renata
Anna Beatrix and William Leo
James Morgan and William Asher

There are surprisingly few cutesy horrible names on those lists, though London and Paris for girls and Jayden and Kayden for boys made me retch a bit. Here would be my choices:Isabella and Sophia
Isabella and Isaiah - This is a tough one, because I like both names individually but I wouldn't want anyone to think I'd matched the names together because they share the same first initial.
Caleb and Jacob

I'd go with:Alexandra and Elizabeth I'm not a fan of Alex- names but it's only for aesthetics, not because of their popularity or whatnot. They're solid classics at least, so if I have to compromise with a name I'm not a huge fan of to get one I love (Elizabeth) I would follow the general principle of names that attract me. ;-) They'd be something like Alexandra Thomasin "Sandy" or "Sandra" and Elizabeth Alberta, one of my regulars. I like Alexandra Romaine more but didn't want to sound like some Romanovophile. Sandy, Sandrine, and Sandra are saving graces for Alexandra to me, really; I love them to pieces. Olivia and WilliamOlivia is kind of a GP for me but something in me does love it so it's not a huge compromise. William has been a long-standing favorite. I'd perhaps use the combos Olivia Lorraine and William Douglas. Thomas and WilliamThomas is one of those second-string favorites of mine that, if pressed, I could possibly become very fond of. I'd go with Thomas Nestor and William Roch, just for some variation.
