[Opinions] double-duty mythology names
I love names with ties to Mythology, but I also like when they can function in the "real world" without causing a ruckus wherever they go - like Chloe, Daphne, Phoebe, etc. I like that they seem like ordinary names, but when you look closely they have rich stories behind them.I've made up a list of names that I think fulfill this quality, but I would like to know if any of these look too "strange".Girls:Diana
Eudora
Flora
Selene
Rhea
Thea
Nona
Lucina
Camilla
Aurora
Delia
Daphne
Danae (iffy, but like Dana-with-a-twist I thought))
Doris
Iris
Irene
Gaia
Helene, Helen
Ione
Ianthe
Cora (Kore)
Pandora
Penelope
Phoebe
Phyllis
Bridget
Ness, Ness
Branwen
Morgaine, MorganBoys (perhaps not surprisingly I have way fewer of these):Argus
Castor (I'm not sure of this, I thought maybe it could squeak by because of its similarity to Casper)
Hector
Linus
Nestor
Fergus
Angus
Arthur
Yvain (not exactly an everyday name buy I am loving it today)
Wayland
Alf (super geeky but not too bizarre I thought)So, do any really look odd, or overly "weird" up there? Do you have any other suggestions, especially for boys? Thanks all!
