Daniel's eldest son Nic inherited his father's talent for acting, but his mother's self-destructive tendencies. With the help of his father, Nic gets a head start in acting playing small roles in some of his dad's movies, but gets his first real role at 19--and the same year, his high school girlfriend gives birth to a daughter. The rest is tabloid fodder: Nic gets involved in drugs, booze, and most notably, high-priced prostitutes, as well as dating a gamut of women from serious actresses to porn stars. He loses custody of his daughter and stops speaking to his father and older sister. Despite public backlash, however, he remains successful as ever, aging very gracefully and transitioning well to TV once his movie career seemed to be kaput. In the late 90s, however, Nic seems to clean up his act: he marries another successful, yet somewhat dimwitted, actress, and they have two daughters. However, Nic's demons come back full force, and they divorce only a couple of years later amidst rumors of alcohol, drugs, and domestic violence. Nic marries again only a few years later to a real estate agent he met while selling one of his houses, and she gives birth to twin boys soon after. After a very public domestic dispute which results in both of them arrested, Nic decides to enter rehab.
