My great-grandmother was named
Clara Edith, but for whatever reason, went by
Edith.
She pronounced it CLAIR-uh so that's how I pronounce it too, but both pronunciations are legit. If you told me CLARR-uh, I wouldn't hesitate.
I think it is less boring than
Clare and less trashy than
Lara. It doesn't have nn or pet names really, except for
Clare or
Lara.
It's an "eh" name for me, best left as a mn.
