[Opinions] Caitlin
What do you think of Caitlin? What are your top 5 spellings? (I know you might not like as many but just try to find the 5 you like best). How many do you know and how do they spell it? Do you think it's still common? I see it as more of a late 90s name.
Mine:
Caitlin
Cateline (I also like this pronounced differently, though)
Catelyn
Catelin
Catelynn
I like it as a middle name. To make it easier I think I'd only use Caitlin.

I love Caitlin, but I hate the other spellings. I've known a lot of girls with the name, so I'm pretty sure it's still common.
I love Cateline
I really like Caitlin, and I wish it had not become so crazily popular and washed out by all the variant spellings. I think the youngest Caitlin I know is around 7 or 8, and there are a half-dozen older Caitlins at my church. I'm not sure about spellings, but I think the most common choices are Kaitlin and Katelyn.
Caitlin is really the only spelling I like and the only one I would consider using. I'm so used to Kaitlin, Kaitlyn, and Katelyn that they don't bother me. Catelyn is interesting, too.
If you add up all the different spellings, it's still a popular choice today.

Interestingly, while I much prefer Katelyn or Katelynn because it looks more natural, if one must use the ai (which I'm generally not a fan of), it needs to be a C 'cause Kaitlyn/Kaitlin somehow doesn't look right at all.
That said, I can't stand Catelyn... or any Cate spelling...

I think it's way too common! Most of them are my age, so I see it way too often. Anyway:
Caitlin
Catelyn (I only like this because of a character)
Kaitlin
Caitlyn
Kaitlyn
I know, well, a lot. I know a Caitlin, a Kaitlyn, a Katelyn (I think), and a Kaitlin. I also know others but I'm not syre of their spellings (most of them are Katie, so I never see their full names written)
I might use Cateline as a mn. I consider that a different name though because of the different pronunciation.

It's still used rather excessively. When I looked through spellings for BC the past few years and totalled them, it was still excessively high. It's become extremely boring. Not a fan of Cate/Cait names w/ a C at all- nor w/ the "ai"... though Caitlin and Caitlyn are somewhat tolerable since that's where the original came from. Honestly, the only spellings I particularly like are Katelyn and Katelynn... and maybe Kate-lynn. Catherine's ok w/ a C, but that tends to be shortened to Cat or Cathy/Cathie instead much of the time. Cate just somehow looks unnatural to me.
Cateline just looks to me like a Jpns. person butchered the spelling of Catherine.
