[Opinions] Re: Rose.
Rose as a fn is terrific. As a mn its a bit filler-ish -- although if that's how it's used in the family then heritage trumps all. I love the simplicity and timelessness of one syllable Rose as a fn. And you can have such fun with the mn. Rose Magdalene / Magdalena -- gorgeous
Rose Susannah -- Oh don't you cry for me, I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee.
Rosa Diane -- NiceA few ideas:Rose Dominique
Rose Lavinia
Rose Dulcinea (= sweet rose)
Rose Olivia (too botanical, perhaps)
Rose Eibhlin / Eileen
Rose Genevieve
Rose Madeleine
Rose Marguerite / Margarethe
Rose Eliana
Rose Anastasia
Rose Evelyn / Evelina
Rose Patricia
Rose Wilhelmina ("willa-MEE-nuh," honors any Williams you've got lying around)
Rose Timothea (ditto the Timothys)
Rose Dorothea
Rose Anais ("ah-nah-EES")
Rose Eleanora
Rose Hannelore ("hannah-LOR-uh")
Rose Ariadne
Rose Evadne
Rose Veronica / Veronique
Rose Hadassah (rose + myrtle?)
Rose Estella
Rose Cordelia
Rose Honorine
Rose Victorine
Rose Morwenna
Rose Catriona
Rose Angharad ("ahng-HAHR-ud")
Rose Maureen
Rose Abigail
Rose Matilda
Rose Winifred
Rose Emmanuelle
Rose Letitia / Laetitia(~~~~~~Drum roll please~~~~~) And my all time favorite Rose combo: Rose Myfanwy ("mih-VAWN-wee").As long as you stay away from a mn that is another noun, then I think you can do pretty much whatever you like with a mn. Honoring family is always important so from your honoring choices, Rosa Diane is my favorite. That's really fresh and appealing. :-)

My great-grandmother was Wilhelmina. She went by Minnie. I'm very big into honoring, so I'm not sure about a lot of thsee.I do like:
Rose Wilhelmina
Rose Myfanwy (although my husband would never let me us Myfanwy)
Rose Veronica - Veronica is a family name.
Rose Anastasia - I love this, actually. We both love Anastasia but hate the way most Americans say it. This would be lovely.I think, though, with our surname Rose Diane, Rose Teresa & Rose Magdalen flow the best. Plus they're so very down to earth to me - I'm as far from romantic as you can get, really. I like my names to be solid, grounded and not too romantic.

Diana Rose immediately made me think Diana Ross.

Diana Rose / Diana RossYou're right. Diana Rose does make me think of Diana Ross. I'm not sure that's such a negative for this baby's generation (or any). But you are right on the resemblance and it is distracting.
