For twin girls right now Im kind of liking Faith and Joy.

I don't think themed names for twins do them any favours. Joy is one of my favourite names, but I don't like Faith at all; or Fay; but Faith is actually hard to pronounce and often turns into Faif, which is not good.
Joy and Ruth would work as a more subtle combo.

ok... so Gloria's nms either, but some people like it, so I thought I'd give it a shot... esp. since it's pretty rare on small children these days.

yes, this woman does sound rather messed up.

If you must, use them as mns. It would be a subtle tribute without being difficult to live with. I just think twins get enough of the cutesy factor as it is. Many people can't tell them apart and there are all those comments ... That's enough to deal with without adding matching names to the list. JMO.

Too matchy-matchy for my taste. I like each name separately, but together? Too saccharine.

I wouldn't have a problem if I saw them and I like both names.I don't think they are very matchmaker-ry but I wouldn't worry to much becuase people wopuld just think it's cute.

The names are nice, but I agree that the "matchiness" is a bit too obvious. You could combine two more unexpected virtue names:
Felicity & Grace
Amity & Honour
Verity & Patience
Clemency & Blithe
Felicity & Grace
Amity & Honour
Verity & Patience

The names are ok individually, but I find them very tacky for sisters, and especially twins.

They're nice... I haven't met many young Joys in ages and Faith is a bit more popular than it once was, but not excessive. They're short and cute and sensible and don't tend to wind up w/ dumb nns.

Seriously take it from a twin, you do not want to put twins through growing up having everyone comment on how their names match. "Oh how cute, Faith and Joy! They match!" as if they weren't the millionth person in their lives to notice how their first names are similar. Twins are grouped together enough, there's no good reason to make it harder for people to see the twins as two separate individuals. It's much different than having two siblings with relatively matching names. They're not together all of the time so they are less likely to be grouped together enough for everyone to notice and comment.

My brothers didn't have a major issue with it, but people really did group them together all the time. Most people couldn't tell them apart.
For this reason, very matchy names on twins can wear out their welcome a little bit, much like being dressed in matching outfits. (Then people really, really can't tell you apart!)

I found people make less of an effort to learn the names of the twins when their names are really similar or easy to just group together because they just adopt this "either or" attitude. I don't mind names that take thought to notice the similarities like Nathaniel and Theodore or even clever anagrams like Claus and Lucas but obvious ones just come off as a pain to live with until you're an adult.
The only time I remember recently when there was an big issue with being grouped together with my twin was when my mom freaked out that we got a shared invitation to something by my school. My sister and I didn't care much, but it was pretty classless =/
