[Opinions] Holiday
How do you feel about Holiday as a middle name? I'm not quite brave enough to use it as a first name, but it's growing on me in the middle. It would after both Billie Holiday (whom I absolutely love) and Miss Holiday "Holly" Golightly. Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my favourites--I love both the novella and the film.Do you prefer the name as a first name or a middle name, and what would you pair with it? I've been thinking about Elenor Holiday, Iona Holiday, and Nona Holiday just now.Array

I think it could work as a first name, or a middle name if you're not that brave. I prefer it as a first name, though. Usually it wouldn't be my style, but with such good connotations for the parents, it couldn't help but be a good name because it was given with so much love and thought. Besides, she could go by Holly or Daisy (or Daysie). "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

I would prefer Holly. Holiday is not a fn to me, and it makes me think of "Holiday" by Madonna.

Holiday is cute

The name is nms but if you really like it, it would be ok as a middle name. If people use Thursday as a name, I don't see why you couldn't use Holiday.

I like Holiday, it has a rather fresher sound than Holly, but I wouldn't use it unless my daughter was born close to Christmas. Eleanor Holiday is really nice and I also like Iona & Nona is cute. :)Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I think it's cool. I sort want to encourage you to be brave enough to use it as a FN, but maybe it is better as a MN.
I really like Nona Holida, it isn't anything I would use myself, but I LIKE it.

I don't mind it, but because Holiday isn't a common name, my brain keeps trying to make it Halliday, which is a more common surname.

I dislike it because I can't think of anything but the Madonna song, 'Holiday.'Holiday Celebrate
Holiday CelebrateChorus:If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so niceEverybody spread the word
We're gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It's time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday

That song was the first thing I thought of, too. LOL. But I think it would be fine as a mn, esp. since it has significance for you, and you wouldn't be using it just because it's "cute", etc. I like all 3 combos you posted, btw. Oh, but, Iona Holiday, depending on how you prn. Iona, sounds a bit like "I own a holiday". :b
