Ben is a good nn, but there are better long forms. Benjamin; Benedict (or Benedick if they're really Shakespearean); even Bennett.

I would think that his parents are zany and fantastic (and well-read).

I'd say "Woah, your parents are awesome", and then I'd make him swear an oath never to go by 'Benny'.

I'd think one or both of his parents loved Shakespeare. ;)

This post made me smile :) It's just a fun name to say! I love it, if I met a kid names Benvolio I would swoon, it's awesome! At the same time, it is very over the top and wouldn't use it myself, but it's always fun to see it used on someone else.

I would think he sounds like a roman villian!
