Philippa Hathaway was reading History and Spanish at the University of Exeter (England), and had to spend the third year of her degree in Spain, studying at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. It is here she met the rather dashing Benito Tovares and the two soon fell madly in love. The pair had to spend a year living in different countries, when Philippa returned to England to finish her degree, but as soon as she graduted she returned to Spain to be with her love.
They have been married a year and now live in San Sebastián de los Reyes, a city located in the muncipality of Madrid, and is 21km north of the city of Madrid.
Benito is a journalist working for a local newspaper and Philippa teaches history at a local secondary (high) school.
