Don't know about Ireland/Scotland, and I probably don't speak for most of the US either when I say this, but I really like Alastair, or Alastor (since I have been raised on harry potter). I actually had it as a pairin for a while as Alastair Percival or Alastair Perceus, but people said that sounded rather pretentious. Then again if your using Alastair... Might as well go all the way. :)
