My son is Peter David Alastair; we're not Scottish but we've got two friends with Scottish parents who spell it that way. I've known an Alasdair and a couple of Alistairs, but none of the others.

For combos, I suppose you couldn't go wrong with the standard Scottish names: James, Hugh, David, Keith, Douglas ...
